Find pre-trained entry level staff with Employment 1st
June 28, 2012
The People 1st Training Company is working with colleges throughout the UK to help get unemployed people back into work. We are doing this through a combination of training and highlighting the career opportunities within the hospitality sector. Our aim is to help 10,000 people into employment during the next two years.

With hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism being one of the few industries in the UK set to grow in the next few years, research estimates that an average of 106,300 additional people will be required annually to meet ongoing growth in the sector.
Key to achieving this aim is our Employment 1st programme, a 60 hour level 1 introduction to the hospitality, travel and tourism industries. This programme has been designed specifically for these industries and includes areas such as level 2 food safety for hospitality, level 2 health and safety, and a level 2 customer service qualification. The programme also includes training on working as part of a team and time management.
Employment 1st is a dynamic training programme that prepares people looking for their first job in hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism industry. It has been developed with input from employers, who have requested a consistent industry standard for pre-employment training.
The programme covers 13 job roles:
Bar staff
Barista
Catering supervisor
Chef
Conference/exhibition manager
Crew member
Customer service staff – reception
Hotel porter
Housekeeper
Kitchen porter
Leisure and theme park attendant
Travel agent

Employers can save time and money by working with their local college to identify suitable candidates that have been through the Employment 1st programme, while helping to reduce unemployment at the same time.
